Hi I have a BC about 2 years old now he was a rescue, nearly had him 12 months. I am having trouble while on a walk he has always lunged at people in the street barking at them he doesn't do it as frequently but when he does he gets in a right state starts spinning if you try to stop him and will bite you if you get in the way, don't think he means to. He also does this with the odd car not every one now though. Also sometimes if you tell him off in the house he will turn round and go to bite you as if he is trying to tell us off. Not sure what to do. Any advice would be greatly received. Thanks

Hello,
There could be a number of reasons for this behaviour, have you spoken to the rescue you had him from to see if they can help with advice?
If they can't contact our office and we'll put you in touch with someone who may be able to help.
All the best
Ben

Hi, it's a shame that there is no advice given about this as we have exactly the same problem with our collie-x. We rescued her over 2.5 years ago now. The vet said she was about 3 years old (+/- 1 year) so I'm guessing she's about 5 years old now. Her story was that she was a stray and is very timid. She's OK with most dogs but as soon as people come near her she barks at them. At first she did not display this behaviour. I try to get her to sit and stand over her whilst people move past us but sometimes she ignores me and just carries on. She also chases anything that dares to move in her vision and nips if she's allowed to get close! She is still very timid and tries to flight whenever she hears any loud bangs/noises (5 November is a nightmare for her!). Apart from that she's lovely and we've taught her to play, and a few commands like sit, come (not that successful as she prefers to sit away from you). Any advice would be good. Thanks.

Hello,
These problems can be quite complex and if dealt with incorrectly will probably be made worse. It's important to identify exactly why your dog is behaving like this so that the right advice can be given.
If you'd like to speak to us so we can put you in touch with someone please do give us a ring
All the best
